Little bit about Sue Madgen-Baker:

I am a lecturer at Challenger TAFE Beaconsfield, working in Visage. My classes cover units associated with the hairdressing industry, this includes Hairdressing Apprentices, VETis Programs and I am currently involved with the program at Challenger with the SALP (Student Apprenticeship Link Program). I have been hairdressing for 27 years and have a passion to educate and train our future generation of industry professionals. My ideal is that they would be inspired to be the best of the best in their chosen field.

After my first PDSP today, with the aim to design and impliment workplace assessment tools I am looking forward to the options and direction that this will take and the potential benefits it will bring to our role as assessors. I hope this will enable us to better collate and more acurately and reliably record information in workplace assessments.

Workshop 2:

Creating Videos: I found this to be extremely intersesting when viewing the end results of our first videos. The applications for training and assessing in the workplace, classroom and via the web were numerous. I was pleased with the end result of our first video but would obviously prefer to refine and improve the quality, lighting, background, camera/video angles, etc.
Using Video With Students: Can be used for classroom or workplace practice or reference. Would also be great visual and interactive tool for students to use outside the workplace or classrooms
Further Training required?: Would like to attend further pd to practice the video editting process.

The day in total was productive and exceeded my expectations. The applications are endless and I am quite excited about the future of these applications within this project and others.
